Transport for nsw
The NSW Government and Transport for NSW are committed to connecting people safely and reliably to the places that matter most. Guided by the Active Transport Strategy, we are investing in safer streets, better walking and cycling connections, and transport networks that give people more choice in how they travel.
Working with councils, schools and local communities, Transport for NSW is improving cycling infrastructure, strengthening links to public transport and supporting programs that encourage active travel for everyday trips.
One of these programs is Get Kids Active, which helps make it safer and easier for children to walk and ride to school through infrastructure upgrades, improved school facilities and educational initiatives.
As a partner of Spring Cycle, Transport for NSW supports opportunities that help people build confidence riding, learn about safe riding practices and experience the benefits of active transport.
Through our partnership with Spring Cycle, we aim to:
- Encourage more people to choose walking and riding for everyday trips.
- Support children and families to build confidence travelling actively through programs such as Get Kids Active.
- Promote safe riding practices and shared-path safety.
- Demonstrate how cycling can connect with public transport as part of a complete journey.
- Highlight the health, wellbeing and environmental benefits of active transport.
- Support healthier, more connected and more liveable communities across NSW.
